A Mars particle scanned by an atomic force microscope on board Phoenix is nearly identical to an Earthly microbe species in size, shape and color. The Earthly species is halomonas campisalis of the halophile family of microbes. All, Out of curiosity I am trying to determine how deep I can actually image from my backyard observatory. Details as to designated star magnitudes below Mag 16 seem to be hard to come by.
